Let's begin with the most recent of BAD EXPERIENCE'S!
A law firm at Level 4, 600 Bourke Street Melbourne, by the name of KHQ LAWYERS has qualified to make my list of Solicitors / Lawyers to avoid.
khq.com.au is the law firms web address. Like most websites it contains the typical evidence of one blowing their own trumpet, but in the case of KHQ Lawyers and my own experience, the trumpets are out of tune with the reality.
DISCLAIMER: My experience was with INES KALLWEIT, other lawyers at KHQ may not be as bad,

BACKGROUND: Grandma passed away in 1999, her Will permits the sale of the home to be deferred, for some family to remain living at the home.
Pippa Rosalind Sampson (Executor for an uncle) assumed the role as Trustee for my Grandma's former home, selling the property in February 2021. Plenty was going on during 2021/2022, much of it was improper but that's a story for another day.
06/10/2022 Ines Kallweit of KHQ Lawyers is appointed independent administrator of my Late Grandmother's Estate.

Grandma Passes

Family Grieve

Vultures Move In
Appointed more than 425 days ago (6/10/22 - 6/12/23) yet Kallweit has NOT finalised the Estate.
She didn't have to call-in any assets, sell any property or do much else... It really should have been quite simple, but NOW she has gone and made it a LOT HARDER!
As readers may soon understand, Kallweit has been quick to release funds to Sampson, but seemingly did not bother to ensure Sampson did what she was supposed to have done.
Ok, so on 27 November 2023 l emailed Kallweit, among other things l was checking up to see if she was in position to finalise/wind-up my Grandma's Estate.

KALLWEIT RESPONDS!
The email (below) was sent by Kallweit on 27/11/2023. In this email Kallweit informs me FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME that she has discovered some "tax irregularities"
Kallweit tells me that l might have to seek return of funds l have distributed to beneficiaries and possibly forward those funds to her, for this alleged tax issue.
Kallweit also stuffs up by confusing whom l am Executor for, she says "Barry" but l am actually the Executor for the another brother named "Brian" (not Barry)
KALLWEIT RESPONDS AGAIN!
After having read the previous email from Kallweit and being totally shocked by the very late disclosure of there being possible "Tax Irregularities".
I knew my Grandma was a non-lodger and could not possibly have had any outstanding personal tax concerns, hence l emailed Kallweit and demanded greater detail on what the so called "Tax Irregularities" were.
The email from Kallweit (below) said it was a "Capital Gains Tax" issue. Kallweit went on to inappropriately pointed the finger of blame on my aunt (Robyn)... As you will soon read, the blame should actually belong to Pippa Rosalind Sampson.

There had been no emails either way for the previous 8 weeks. In fact, Kallweit FIRST ever email was sent to me on 17/04/2023 which l responded to then on 20/04/2023 Kallweit acknowledged receiving my email.
Given the content of the 21/06/2023 email and the zero correspondence for the previous 8-weeks, "WHY" did Kallweit send such an email?
The June 6th email was basically telling us NOTHING, but saying that she/Kallweit would be emailing with some info by "NO LATER THAN EARLY NEXT WEEK"
So why didn't KALLWEIT wait a couple days and email us "ONCE" and "WITH" some "INFORMATION"???
Perhaps the NOTHING email was simply sent in attempt to drive the bill up a but more... Afterall, every sent/received email by Kallweit is charged for!
WHERE IS THE STATEMENT?

As administrator of the Estate, Kallweit is required to provide details and documents at the reasonable request of beneficiaries (or representatives of). Among the type of documents that can be requested are "Trust Account Statements".
As the email of 5 December 2023 from my aunt Robyn to Kallweit shows, my aunt was repeating herself in requesting to be provided with a "Trust Account Statement"
Despite having an obligation to provide the Trust Account Statement, Kallweit responded by email to basically say that nothing will be read or responded to, until the Capital Gains Tax had been investigated further.
Kallweit's own "Stuff-up" seems to be an excuse to not provide documents.
